Dec 01, 2011 I use a Mac, and homebrew for many packages including ImageMagick. I noticed a very annoying issue that I had to work around. Homebrew symlinks. On building rmagick, since it includes file as wand/MagickWand.h There are no workarounds. It looks like sticking with ImageMagick 6 for now. On Mac OS X (I tested on Sierra), I used HomeBrew's versions tap like: brew tap homebrew/versions brew install imagemagick@6.

Using homebrew I added ImageMagick to my system as follow :
And then, add the PHP extension with PECL :
Bad luck…
configure found ImageMagick header :
Checking For Wand Magickwand.h No Mac Yosemite 2017
but couldn’t compile the source as the ‘wand/MagickWand.h’ include failed.
To solve it, just tell the C compiler where to find this header with the C_INCLUDE_PATH environment variable :
and it worked!
